The price of a UV sheet in Pakistan depends first on what the sheet is made of. A UV-lacquered MDF board used for kitchen shutters is not the same product as a thin PVC marble-effect wall panel. Their thickness, strength, water resistance and installation methods differ substantially. Compare prices only after matching the core material, 4×8-foot size, thickness, surface finish and intended use.
What do Pakistani sellers mean by a UV sheet?
In furniture markets, “UV sheet” often refers to a prefinished MDF or similar board with a UV-cured decorative coating. ZRK describes its UV LUX range as MDF with a lacquer finish cured using ultraviolet light. The finish provides a glossy surface, but the coating does not turn the underlying wood-fibre core into a waterproof board.
Other shops use the same term for thin PVC marble-effect panels, often intended for decorative interior walls. These are a different class of product. A low quote for a thin cladding sheet should never be compared directly with a cabinet-grade 16 mm or 17 mm MDF board.

What does one 4×8-foot sheet cover?
A nominal 4×8-foot sheet has 32 square feet of gross area (2.97 square metres). This is the area before cuts and waste. It is useful for comparing quoted panel costs, but a cabinetmaker also needs to plan the width, grain direction, matching patterns, edging and unusable offcuts.
For example, a wall measuring 10 feet by 8 feet has 80 square feet of face area. Dividing 80 by 32 gives 2.5 sheets, so the mathematical minimum is three full 4×8 sheets. Actual installation may need more depending on the cut layout, openings and pattern alignment. For furniture, door dimensions and cut-list optimization matter more than floor area alone.
Why a glossy 4×8 board may cost more
The central difference is usually not the word “UV”; it is the product specification. Thicker structural board generally uses much more core material than thin wall cladding. Surface process, gloss grade, scratch-resistance testing, decor pattern, board quality and single- versus double-face finish all affect the quoted product. A premium-looking photograph cannot prove any of these details.
As a dated retailer example, not a current national rate, Lahore seller Lucky Woodster published a May 2026 UV Lasani listing showing Rs. 6,500 for a 16 mm high-gloss category and Rs. 9,500 for a 17 mm super-gloss category. The listing identifies 8×4-foot dimensions. These figures demonstrate why the specified finish and thickness must accompany any comparison; confirm an updated quote and stock before ordering.
Material cost versus installed cost
A seller’s price per board commonly excludes some of the work required to finish the job. For a cabinet, check cutting, edge banding, hinges, handles, joining hardware, labour and delivery. For wall cladding, ask whether trimming, surface preparation, adhesive, corner profiles, joints and site labour are included. Work out the landed cost per usable square foot rather than the cheapest apparent price per board.
Use the same unit when comparing merchants: total quoted material price ÷ sheet area gives a basic price per square foot, while total installed quote ÷ finished area gives a more realistic project cost. Neither method removes the need to compare material quality.
Choose the right UV sheet for kitchens and walls
For kitchen shutters, request the board manufacturer’s product specification and ask the installer how they will seal exposed MDF edges near sinks. Steam, water intrusion and prolonged wetting can damage susceptible board cores even when the face is glossy. For decorative walls, assess the underlying surface, heat exposure and any moisture problem before selecting thin PVC or another panel.
Look at a real sample in natural light. Check if reflected lines appear even, whether the panel surface is scratched, how the corner looks after cutting and whether the seller offers an identifiable manufacturer and batch. Ask about cleaning products that may dull the coating. Do not assume “UV resistant” means that the sheet is suitable for direct exterior weather exposure.
Questions to ask a dealer
- Is this UV-cured MDF, a laminated board or a thin decorative PVC sheet?
- Is the quote for one complete 4×8 sheet, and what is its measured thickness?
- Are both faces finished, or is the back plain?
- Is the quoted finish and colour actually in stock, and can it be matched later?
- How much do cutting, edging, transport, installation and breakage allowance add?
