The water tank price in Pakistan depends first on usable storage capacity, material, construction grade and whether delivery or installation is included. A 500-litre tank is not directly comparable with a 2,000-litre model, and even tanks of the same size can differ in wall construction, dimensions and warranty. For a dependable purchase, obtain a dated quotation for the exact tank rather than relying on a single nationwide figure.

Choose water tank capacity in litres

Pakistani suppliers advertise plastic water tanks in sizes such as 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 litres. For example, Masterfit lists blow-moulded options from 300 to 2,000 litres, while Master Engineering describes several size and construction ranges. Those are product ranges, not proof that every size is in stock with every dealer.

Nominal capacity Useful buying question What to check before ordering
500 litres Is compact storage enough for the intended use? Height, diameter, access route and expected consumption
1,000 litres Does it balance stored volume with available floor area? Tank footprint, full-load support and inlet/outlet sizes
2,000 litres Is larger reserve capacity required? Structural support, base area, delivery access and overflow arrangement

Some sellers also use gallon-based marketing labels. A gallon is not the same volume under US and imperial measures. Do not convert a seller’s ‘250 gallon’ label into an exact litre capacity without checking the manufacturer’s declared litres. A printed capacity and model code are more useful than an informal market description.

What makes one plastic water tank cost more?

Material and intended water use

Polyethylene and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) tanks are common product types. For water intended for drinking or cooking, request the manufacturer’s specific potable-water or food-contact documentation. The words ‘plastic tank’ alone do not confirm the material’s suitability. Food-contact suitability also does not mean incoming water is automatically safe to drink.

Construction, sunlight and warranty

Suppliers offer different grades, wall profiles and UV-stabilised or multilayered products. Master Engineering, for example, separates its roto-moulded tank range into grades rather than treating every tank as an identical item. Compare documented construction and warranty terms, including what damage is excluded. More layers are not a sufficient comparison without material thickness, construction and warranty information.

Orientation and fittings

A vertical tank may suit one layout and a horizontal model another. Confirm the inlet, outlet, lid, air vent and overflow connections before arranging a plumber. Two tanks described as 1,000 litres can require different floor footprints and pipe connections, so check a dimensioned product sheet where available.

Roof installation: capacity is also a weight decision

Water is heavy. As a practical estimate, 1,000 litres of water weigh about one metric tonne, before adding the tank’s own weight, people, stands, piping or other loads. A 2,000-litre filled tank therefore contains roughly two tonnes of water. This is a volume-to-mass illustration, not approval for any roof.

Never place a large storage tank on a roof simply because there is enough empty space. Have a qualified structural professional confirm the support location, slab capacity and distribution of the load. The base must be appropriate for the chosen tank and remain stable when filled. Follow the manufacturer’s support guidance, not an improvised narrow brick platform.

Allow for the full installed cost

A showroom price may cover only the empty tank. Ask for an itemised total so a cheaper headline offer does not become an expensive installation.

Cost component Question for the seller or installer
Tank Which exact model, capacity and grade are quoted?
Transport Does delivery reach the property or only the street?
Lifting and placement Who moves the tank to its final position safely?
Valves and pipes Are connectors, overflow and float valve included?
Base and labour Is structural support and plumbing labour extra?

Inspect the tank before accepting delivery

Check its declared capacity, construction grade, manufacturer’s label and warranty documentation. Inspect the body, seam areas where applicable, lid and outlets for obvious damage. Confirm that the outlet fitting fits the plumber’s planned pipework. Retain a dated invoice identifying the actual model and seller.

For drinking-water storage, protect the tank from contamination, keep the lid secure and follow local public-health guidance for cleaning and disinfection. A UV-resistant exterior does not substitute for hygienic installation or water-quality testing when appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 1,000-litre water tank price in Pakistan?

There is no single reliable national amount across all grades and sellers. Compare current quotations for the same 1,000-litre model, material, delivery city and warranty.

Which is better, a 500-litre or 2,000-litre tank?

Choose by water-use needs, refill reliability, available space and structurally safe support. A larger tank is not automatically suitable for a roof.

Are multilayer tanks always better?

Layer count is only one specification. Evaluate materials, UV treatment, wall construction, support requirements and the written warranty.

Is a tank’s installation included in the price?

Not necessarily. Request separate written figures for the tank, transport, valves, plumbing and any required structural work.
